  • BMW design boss defends and explains the 7 Series grille size

When you're behind some of the most controversial BMW features in recent years, it's probably not an easy job to defend them from critics. In an interview with the Australian outlet Motoring, BMW design chief Adrian van Hooydonk discussed the big kidney grilles on the current 7 Series and X7, saying that the backlash was "more or less" expected but that the criticism has still gone bone deep. The X7 also features a very big grille, but van Hooydonk says it's proportional to the rest of the big SUV.

  • Ford Puma is back as a kitten-size crossover

Back in the late '90s and early 2000s, Ford built a really neat-looking little Fiesta-based coupe called the Puma. It was all well and good, and only premature rust has worked to erase the original Puma from the hearts and minds of European driving enthusiasts. The Puma will be reborn as a crossover "coupe" in the near future, according to Ford.

  • Aston Martin will call the AM-RB 003 the Valhalla

Aston Martin has announced the proper name of its upcoming "AM-RB 003" hypercar: It will be called the Valhalla. The name continues the tradition of Aston Martin model names beginning with the letter V, and it ties neatly into Norse mythology. As Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer said: "In following the Valkyrie, we knew the Aston Martin Valhalla needed to make a strong statement of its own, yet also offer continuity and a clear connection.

  • Lexus GX 460 SUV gains technology on the road, and off of it

Lexus has updated its GX 460 SUV for 2020. The GX 460 is one of the longer-running SUV models on the market, as it was originally unveiled around a decade ago and it's still based on the sturdy Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, which is a touch more compact than the U.S. market Land Cruiser. The refresh gives the model some new touches to keep it in line with other current Lexus products, including a more contemporary spindle grille and new headlights, but it's restyled along the same moderate lines as the previous updates the GX 460 has received during its tenure.

  • 2020 Fiat Ducato Electric is the Ram ProMaster's EV cousin

As we all know, the Ram ProMaster has Italian roots. Despite featuring a 3.6-liter, 24-valve Chrysler Pentastar V6 with 280 horsepower, the ProMaster was born a humble Fiat Ducato over a decade ago, the Ducato's roots stretching far into the past. There was even been a rebadged Alfa Romeo version of the Ducato in the early '80s, so badge engineering isn't a strange concept when it comes to this line of vans.

BMW promises the 2020 3 Series Touring will drive better and haul more stuff than its predecessor, with its dimensions slightly grown along with its footprint. BMW says it has also improved the dimensions of the cargo bay hatch to make fitting large objects easier.

  • Mercedes-AMG GLB 45 spied in the sun

Earlier Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class spy shots have shown us the AMG 35 performance version and the fully electric sibling, the EQB, both in snowy conditions. The 35 is likely to get around 300hp from its 2.0-liter turbo engine, but the full-power 45 can get a tougher version of the same engine, with two possible power outputs, 383 or 416 horsepower depending whether we're talking about the AMG GLB 45 S or not.

The third-gen TT was introduced in 2014, so it is getting on a bit.
