  • Man rescued from window ledge after fire breaks out at Bedok Reservoir Rd flat

    A man was spotted standing on a fourth-floor window ledge at Block 138 Bedok Reservoir Road on Monday (20 February) to escape the smoke from the unit. A fire broke out on Monday (20 February) afternoon at a fourth-floor flat at Block 138 Bedok Reservoir Road. At the scene, Yahoo Singapore spotted a man standing on the ledge outside the window of the unit as Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers worked to rescue him.

  • Taxi driver crashes into walkway at Jurong West St 81

    A taxi driver crashed his vehicle into a walkway between two HDB blocks at Jurong West on Thursday (19 January) morning. According to a Straits Times report, a witness said the cabbie had mistakenly stepped on the accelerator while reversing at the open air carpark shared by blocks 816 and 817 at Jurong West Street 81. This caused the taxi to mount the kerb and end up wedged between two pillars of the walkway.

Fans can also expect to take a trip down memory lane as the cafe features replica furniture, character-inspired feature walls, Monica’s kitchen and even Patsy the Dog from the show, which aired its last episode in 2004. Central Perk Singapore is the only cafe outside of the United States that has been granted the permission to use the intellectual property from the original TV series.

  • Coldplay to hold second concert in Singapore due to red-hot demand

    It is the news that Coldplay fans who couldn’t get hold of tickets for the UK band’s sold-out concert in Singapore next year have been yearning for – Chris Martin and co will stage a second concert here on 31 March 2017. In addition, concert promoter Live Nation Lushington said 2,200 extra CAT 5 (Standing Pen A) and 1,000 CAT 6 (Standing Pen B) tickets will be sold for Coldplay’s first concert on 1 April 2017. Tickets for both concert days will go on sale on 25 Nov (Friday) at 10am (Singapore time). There will also be a limit of four tickets across all categories per transaction, the organiser said.
