Tesla shares briefly bounce back after Musk retweets strong EV sales report

A rollercoaster ride for Tesla — first shares were up earlier in the day after CEO Elon Musk retweeted a favorable sales report by InsideEVs, which said Tesla was "1st, 2nd & 3rd in August sales" among electric car automakers. But then shares paired gains following news that short seller Andrew Left of Citron Research filed a class action lawsuit against Tesla and Elon Musk for violating federal securities laws.
