Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington Messed Up His Proposal to Rose Leslie
Winter… and a wedding are coming. It didn’t take long for Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington to divulge details from his recent proposal to girlfriend of five years Rose Leslie. However, not everything went according to plan.
“I did have some plans to do it,” Harington told British TV host Jonathan Ross in an interview airing Saturday, October 7. “I was going to string up some lights in some trees and do all the romantic stuff, but we were in the country and we were under this beautiful night sky and had a log fire burning and red wine and I blew my load early.”
Harington quickly amended his statement. “Sorry, that’s a really bad expression,” he said. “I was meant to do it the day after with the lights. What I meant to say was, ‘I popped my question a bit early.’”
Still, Leslie said yes, and the two are well on their way to planning HBO’s biggest wedding of the year. “I rang [the producer] up and I said, ‘I’m getting married and it’s your fault actually,’” Harington continued. “I was like, ‘You need to factor in a Game of Thrones wedding by the way.’ They [our co-stars and the crew] have all got to be there so the whole thing has got to shut down.”
Much to the disappointment of devoted fans, the wedding itself will not be Game of Thrones-themed like this. “No,” Harington firmly said. “There is absolutely no chance of me convincing her of that.”

Harington and Leslie confirmed their engagement last month with a simple newspaper announcement which ran in The Times of London. “The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughter of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire,” it read.
