Vontaze Burfict, NFL's dirtiest player, gets himself ejected and imitates Johnny Manziel

If you made a list of least surprising things that could happen on Sunday, Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict being ejected might have topped the list.

Burfict makes a habit of getting in trouble, and the Bengals make a habit of looking dumb defending him, so expect more of the latter after Burfict was ejected from Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans. Burfict made contact with an official and was tossed. Given his long, long, looooooonnnnnnng history, it would be no surprise if he faces further punishment.

And just to help the NFL make that decision, Burfict didn’t leave the field quietly.

Burfict has been in trouble since his days at Arizona State. He was so bad there, he was a first-round talent who went undrafted, which you practically never see. Burfict has been on the NFL’s discipline radar since entering the league and obliges them often by doing things like delivering dirty hits to try to injure opponents.

This is just the latest entry in Burfict’s punishment ledger. It cost him more than a half of Sunday’s game, and perhaps will cost him more when the NFL reviews it.

The Titans ended up winning, 24-20, on the strength of a 12-play, 73-yard touchdown drive with 38 seconds left in the game.
