Zoar Village Council discusses post office services

Zoar Village Council

Tuesday meeting

KEY ACTION: Held a lengthy discussion concerning complaints about the Zoar post office.

DISCUSSION: Mayor Scott Gordon said there are ongoing complaints about the service at the post office. He said residents are not receiving their mail due to senders not putting the post office box number on the mail and it is being sent back. He said the problem is some of the mail is prescriptions for medicine, bills, medical information and other important mail. Gordon plans to meet with the Bolivar postmaster and his superior about the matter. The Bolivar postmaster oversees the Zoar post office.

In another matter, Martina Mann was hired as the fiscal officer at a recent special meeting. She replaces Patty Smith who retired.
