Ofcom receives 1,038 complaints over Rodrigo Alves' racial slurs on Celebrity Big Brother
Ofcom has logged more than a thousand complaints about Celebrity Big Brother, following two incidents of contestant Rodrigo Alves using racial slurs.
The 35-year-old ‘Human Ken Doll’ was given a final warning on by Channel 5 bosses, after he said the n-word twice on Friday’s episode.
Speaking with other housemates about TOWIE star Dan Osborne, he said: “I like a n***** boy. He’s too white for my taste.
“I like a n***** boy.”
Alves later blamed ‘being drunk’ for the language he used.
“Last night I was very excited to be here, and I had quite a lot to drink, and I was intoxicated,” he said.
“Today I’m very hungover, and obviously I regret that, using the n-word, that was not necessary at all. It was just excitement.”
Viewers have since called for him to be removed from the house.
Brazilian-born Alves, who has spent more than £500,000 on plastic surgery, also offended some viewers after he pestered housemate and Married at First Sight star Ben Jardine to expose himself while he was in the bath.

Ofcom has also received 16 complaints about a game on the show in which housemates had to build a Donald Trump-inspired ‘wall’ in the house, aping the US president’s pledge to fortify the country’s border with Mexico.
An Ofcom spokesperson told The Sun: “We will assess these complaints against our broadcasting code before a decision is made whether to investigate.”
