Most brides and grooms spend hours planning their wedding down to the smallest detail, but there’s one element they have zero control over: the weather.

So news that there is now a weather prediction tool will no doubt be welcomed by many engaged couples.

The ‘wedding weather calculator’, created by retailer Monsoon, aims to take the guesswork out of planning your big day.

Using official Met Office rainfall data, the brand analysed 86 years of statistics to establish which days have historically been the driest and wettest.

All you need to do is select your wedding date and venue, and the calculator will give you the chance of rain as a percentage.

You can also find out which nearby date is expected to be the driest.

The calculator has even predicted the likelihood of rain when Princess Eugenie marries fiancé Jack Brooksbank.

With autumn in full swing, it’s perhaps no surprise that there’s a 37% chance of downpours for the couple’s 12 October wedding.

The calculator has also busted some age-old weather myths.

According to Monsoon, April is actually the driest of the year with 15 Aprilcoming out top as the driest predicted day in the UK.

But where you get wed might change everything, as April 29 will likely have the least amount of rainfall in Scotland.

In Northern Ireland, dry day falls on on April 18.

Those planning to tie the knot in England and Wales may want to shift their dates back a month as the best bet for blue skies is June 29.

If you want to find out if you’ll need to wear wellies rather than wedding shoes you can test out the calculator here.
