Matching Wits With the Mean Girls in 'The Duff' Exclusive Trailer

What is a "duff" exactly? It stands for "Designated Ugly Fat Friend," which is pretty harsh when you're describing the ultra cute Mae Whitman (Parenthood, The Perks of Being a Wallflower).

In the upcoming high school comedy, Whitman plays Bianca, an unfashionable sidekick who unwittingly gets used by the popular girls to make themselves look more glamorous. (See the exclusive trailer above, which is also debuting tonight on ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars.)

When Bianca learns about her unfortunate designation at a party, she decides an extreme makeover is in order and gets some help from popular athlete Wesley, played by Scooby-Doo! costar Robbie Amell.

The Duff also stars Bella Thorne (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day), Ken Jeong (Community, The Hangover series) and Allison Janney (Mom), and hits theaters on Feb. 20.
