Fans love Tim Allen's chemistry with his TV wives, Patricia Richardson from Home Improvement and Nancy Travis from Last Man Standing. But the strongest union in Tim's life is, of course, with his real-life wife, Jane Hajduk! The couple have been married for almost 15 years, and honestly, they still look as happy as can be.

Now that Tim is kicking off his new reality competition show called Assembly Required (with his former Home Improvement co-star Richard Karn!), fans are more curious than ever about Tim's family life behind the scenes. Here's everything to know about Tim and Jane's love story!

Tim married actress Jane on October 7, 2006, after five years of dating. The couple tied the knot in an intimate, outdoor ceremony in Grand Lake, Colorado. The only guests were the couple’s family, including Tim’s daughter, Katherine, then 17.

But Tim's actually been married before.

In 1984, Tim married his college sweetheart, Laura Deibel. Five years later, they welcomed a daughter, Katherine, now 31. The couple legally separated in 1999 and their divorce was finalized four years later. According to People, Tim admitted to The Detroit News in 1998 that he was so focused on his career at the time that he "let his family slide.”

Tim has come a long way from self-admittedly putting his family on the back burner. In a 2011 interview with Parade, he said, "I was gone so much in my first marriage, I love the moments when I engage with my youngest daughter now. It’s not my thing to sit on the ground and play tea party, but I’ll do it because it’s a moment that will stick with me forever.”

Despite his best efforts, Tim told Closer Magazine in 2017 that neither of his daughters find him very funny. "The older one will roll her eyes, and the younger one just stares at me—I think she’s done with me," Tim joked. "But I still try to play jokes and make them laugh."

It's just one part of what makes him such a genuinely "loving father and husband," says his Home Improvement co-star Patricia.

What are Jane and Tim up to now?

Proving that the couple who acts together, stays together, Tim and Jane like to appear in the same movies sometimes. They both starred in Joe Somebody in 2001, and Zoom and The Shaggy Dog in 2006.

But the secret to their happy marriage definitely lies in being amazing parents to their kids. "He's an incredible dad," Jane said. Aww.❤️
