Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar has been accused of sexual assault by a Brazilian woman, multiple outlets reported Saturday.

According to Eric Frosio of L'Équipe, the unnamed woman filed the complaint in Sao Paulo, Brazil, alleging that the forward offered to fly her to Paris, then arrived at her hotel room drunk. After some flirting, he allegedly became aggressive and initiated sex against her will.

An investigation into the allegation is now reportedly underway by Brazilian authorities. Get French Football News reports that Neymar was at the birthday of fellow Brazilian PSG star Marquinhos’ that night.

Neymar’s father publicly denied the accusation per Globo Esporte, claiming that his son was extorted over the matter and that the victim allegedly forged evidence.

The star echoed those claims with an Instagram post later in the night, saying he was being extorted and sharing multiple WhatsApp messages as evidence.

“There was a relationship between a man and a woman between four walls. On the next day nothing happened,” Neymar said as translated by the Associated Press. “I hope investigators read the messages and see what happened.”

Neymar is currently with the Brazilian national team as it prepares to kick off a stretch of friendlies, the first against Qatar on June 5 in Brasilia.
