Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler announced their divorce after 10 years together over the weekend, and it’s already extremely messy. And to make matters messier, they’re still, uh, living together.

According to sources who spoke to E! News, Kristin and Jay are holed up in their Nashville house, and it’s all kinds of awkward. “Things are very tense between Jay and Kristin right now,” a source said. “They are on opposite sides of the house and only communicate in regards to the children’s needs. They have barely spoken since the Bahamas trip. It’s really a power struggle between the two of them.”

Sounds less than ideal, especially taking into account Entertainment Tonight’s report that Kristin cited “marital misconduct” and “irreconcilable differences” in her divorce documents. Meanwhile, E!’s sources say she was “blindsided” by Jay claiming that he was “the available at-home parent and the primary caretaker of the parties’ minor children.”

“His filing was basically trying to take her out of the equation, so she had to respond strongly,” the source said. “She’s not going to be taken out of the equation when it comes to her children.”
