Mitt Romney explains how he got 6 speeding tickets on one trip

Former Massachusetts governor and 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney was on Jay Leno's Garage when he admitted that he has a bit of speeding problem. Romney is an avid car enthusiast but trouble seems to follow wherever he drives. Romney told Jay Leno, "I got a bit of a lead foot. It's not a good thing but, you know, I just go too fast." Apparently Romney's "lead foot" resulted in an unpleasant surprise during a road trip through Switzerland. Romney said, "Everybody's driving at, like, 45 miles an hour on this big open road, and I thought, 'this is crazy,' so I'm driving at 55 or 60 and having a great time and delighted that I'm able to pass everybody." When Romney returned home, he received six speeding tickets in the mail. Switzerland uses speed cameras to catch speeders, and it sounds like Romney turned the highway patrol into the paparazzi. Romney went on to say, "Same thing happened in Italy." He laughed, adding "It cost a few bucks." Jay Leno’s Garage airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. on CNBC.
