Even by Donald Trump’s standards it was a puzzling tweet. More than two days after Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank, the US President took to social media to praise the ‘truly beautiful bride’ adding, ‘she has been through so much and has come out a total winner!’ Yet Twitter users were quick to point out that the 9th in line to the throne had so far enjoyed a relatively straightforward and privileged life. President Trump and wife Melania did make a charity donation as a wedding gift to the Duke and Duchess, but made no public declaration of congratulations. The Duke and Duchess did not meet the President and First Lady during an official visit in July.
