UK Royal Mint to offer custodial services to a new cryptocurrency project

UK’s government-owned mint is taking part in a cryptocurrency project.

Royal Mint will offer custody to a new cryptocurrency temtum (TEM), CoinTelegraph reports. The new coin is going to launch on July 17 and will be first available on Hong Kong-based cryptocurrency exchange CoinAll.

The financial institution will custody temtum genesis private keys and currency reserve. What’s more, original private keys will also be placed in the Royal Mint vault “forever.”

Meanwhile, the transaction data will be available on temtum’s Temporal blockchain. According to temtum website, the project is an “Ultra lightweight, super fast, quantum secure decentralised network.” The project is fee-less and offers fast transactions thanks since block confirmations take “12 seconds, 5 blocks per minute.”
