Ricky Martin continues is raise his voice in support of his home island of Puerto Rico, which was violently struck by Hurricane Maria on Wednesday, leaving at least ten dead and the U.S. territory without electricity, running water and dwindling food supplies.

The singer shared a message of concern and frustration on Instagram, revealing that he’d not received any news from one of his brothers, who resides in Puerto Rico.

“I’m sure there are many people living outside of or on the island who have not been able to talk to their families due to communication issues,” he added.

Speaking to his 8.9 million followers, Martin urged fans to send money to his fundraising campaign, which he launched a few days ago to rebuild his home island and help the victims of Maria’s destruction. Fundraising goals were exceeded, but the “Vente Pa’Ca'” singer said that it doesn’t end there. “We reached our goal and now we have to aim for more because there is a lot left to do,” he said, imploring his audience: “Please donate. One dollar that you give is one dollar that will get to the victims.”

Jennifer Lopez—born to Puerto Rican parents— also revealed last Thursday that she still hadn’t heard from her family in Puerto Rico, two days after Hurricane Maria hit. “What’s on my mind is what’s going on in Puerto Rico. The devastation is beyond belief,” J Lo said in an Instagram post.”Me and my cousin still haven’t been able to hear from our families over there.”

On Sunday, Lopez joined New York Governor Andrew Cuomo for a press conference to galvanize the public to aid the devastated Caribbean island. She pledged to donate $1 million from proceeds of her Las Vegas shows.
