Weed has been a red-hot investment theme in 2018. As some cannabis companies’ share prices have shot up in the past few months, some already caution that we may be experiencing a bitcoin craze again.

Here are the cannabis stocks that Yahoo Finance is watching closely. You can track their daily performance by following our Cannabis Stock Watchlist. A few prominent players in marijuana stocks trade on the NASDAQ and the New York Stock Exchange, while the majority are available for investors on the OTC markets due to U.S. regulations. From pure cannabis players to traditional giants investing in the field, we’ve got you covered.

Cannabis Growers

Cronos Group Inc. (CRON)

The Toronto-based company is a grower and distributor of marijuana, with a permit to sell in Canada and Germany through several subsidiaries. Cronos is the first Canadian cannabis company that became the first to make its trading debut in the U.S. in February.

Canopy Growth Corp (CGC/WEED.TO)

The Smith Falls, Ontario-based Canopy is a producer and seller of medicinal-marijuana products. Canopy became NYSE’s first weed listing in May.

Tilray Inc. (TLRY)

Tilray made its debut in NASDAQ with an IPO price of US$17. It’s the first company that has received permission to import cannabis into the U.S. for medical research. Tilray’s revenue in 2017 was US$20 million.

Aurora Cannabis Inc. (ACBFF/ABC.TO)

Headquartered in Edmonton, Aurora is a Canadian licensed cannabis producer. The company’s executives confirmed plans to be listed in a U.S. exchange in October. Coca-Cola reportedly could be looking to make a deal with Aurora to develop cannabis-infused drinks.

CannTrust Holdings (CNTTF/TRST.TO)

CannTrust is a Canadian producer of Medical Cannabis.

Aphria Inc. (APHQF/APH.TO)

Formerly CHT Medical, Aphria uses greenhouse grown cannabis to produce medical marijuana and cannabis oil products.

Hydropothecary Corporation (HYYDF/HYG.TO)

Based in Quebec, Canada, Hydropothecary is a licensed producer and distributor of cannabis.

The Green Organic Dutchman Holdings (TGODF/TGOD.TO)

Headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, the Green Organic Dutchman Holdings is a medical marijuana grower. It had the largest IPO in the industry when it made its debut on the Toronto Stock Exchange on May 2, 2018. It’s building Canada’s largest cannabis greenhouse in Valleyfield, Quebec.

Terra Tech Corp (TRTC)

Based in Irvine, CA, Terra Tech is an agricultural company that has operations in production and dispensing medical marijuana.

Pharma

GW Pharmaceuticals Plc (GWPH)

This pharmaceutical company is known for its development of cannabinoid derived drug therapies. Its current lead product, Epidiolex, is designed to treat drug-resistant forms of epilepsy.

AbbVie Inc. (ABBV)

AbbVie is a biopharmaceutical company based in North Chicago, IL. AbbVie developed Marinol, the first cannabis-based FDA drug.

Corbus Pharmaceuticals Holdings (CRBP)

The Massachusetts biotech company focuses on synthetic cannabinoid drugs.

Anheuser-Busch InBev (BUD)

The multinational beer brewer and maker of Budweiser has entered a partnership with Tilray in December 2018. Both companies will invest up to $50 million in the joint venture to research non-alcoholic beverages containing THC and CBD in Canada.

General Cannabis Corp (CANN)

The Denver, CO-based company provides business services, including real estate, consulting, security, financing and the distribution of infrastructure products to grow facilities and dispensaries.

Scotts Miracle-Gro Company (SMG)

The Marysville, OH-based garden products supplier has been doubling down on the cannabis market by investing in the hydroponics industry. Hydroponic growing is known as an efficient way of cultivating cannabis.

Constellation Brands (STZ)

Constellation, the major alcoholic beverage maker, took a minority stake in Canopy in October 2017 and recently added an additional US$4 billion investment.

Molson Coors Brewing Company (TAP)

The Colorado-based alcoholic-beverage giant, is developing pot-infused drinks with Canadian cannabis producer Hydropothecary Corp.

New Age Beverages Corp (NBEV)

New Age Beverage, a small Colorado-based company, announced it would debut a portfolio of CBD(cannabidiol)-infused beverages at a trade show in October 2018.
