Nigel Farage has claimed that European leaders are responsible for the terror attack in Barcelona, which left at least 14 people dead.

The Brexit champion told Fox News in the US that blame for the attack must be directed at leaders such as Germany’s Angela Merkel.

He said all leaders ever provide is sympathy for victims, but no solutions.

“There is no understanding of why this is going on and not once, not once, do we ever hear a single leader in Europe offer any policy solution whatsoever,” said Farage.

““They are still in denial, and my only guess is that they are so embarrassed by the fact that they have caused this.”

The former UKIP leader added: “There is a direct link and relationship between the number of people you let in from different religions and different cultures and the number of terror attacks.”

And he added that there had been no attacks in central or eastern Europe because countries there have not taken in migrants.

“Now with the central and Eastern European states saying they will not take Islamic terrorism, and even Islamic migration on a huge scale, I think the whole European project is falling apart.”
