Star Comedian Nick Kroll has 'a major opinion about Facebook as a stock'

Nick Kroll is a comedian at the top of his game, from his hit animated series for Netflix (NFLX), "Big Mouth," which has 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, to his Broadway smash hit "Oh, Hello" with frequent collaborator John Mulaney.

He’s also whip-smart and not afraid to share his opinions when it comes to investing.

"I'm more actively involved in saying ‘I don't want to invest in this kind of company,’” Kroll said in an episode of My Three Cents, which airs on Yahoo Finance at 5 p.m. Wednesdays. “I don't invest in alcohol, tobacco, firearms. I don't invest in fossil fuel energy because I think we have to put our money where our mouth is and I think those are places that I don't feel comfortable putting my money."

Kroll also takes a dim view of Facebook (FB) and its founder Mark Zuckerberg.

"I have a major opinion on Facebook as a stock,” Kroll said. “Facebook doesn't need to be the biggest company in the world at the expense of its users.”

Kroll said his friend James Jacoby's Frontline documentary "The Facebook Dilemma" informed his opinion on Facebook.

But he doesn't just hold Zuckerberg accountable. Like many, he believes Wall Street is part of the problem as well.

"I think the investment community can also take a step back and not need and require an incredible, constant growth from every company that they're investing in,” Kroll said. “I think that requiring constant upward growth is at the great detriment of the companies that they're investing in as well as the community at large. And I think we need to take a serious look at what we're encouraging because I think it's ultimately incredibly detrimental to our lives and the environment around us."
