Mollie Tibbetts' Father Reluctantly Returns Home After a Month
Mollie Tibbetts’ father is heading home to California after a month-long exhaustive search for his missing daughter.
Tibbetts, 20, disappeared from her boyfriend’s Brooklyn, Iowa, on July 18 after reportedly going for a jog. Her father, Rob Tibbetts, has been searching for his daughter with the help of law enforcement since she disappeared.
"Very reluctantly, I'm being told I sort of need to do this," Rob told KCRG-TV9. "We've called this sort of a halftime, a break."
The father said law enforcement has encouraged the Tibbetts family to “return to their day-to-day lives and leave them in charge of the case,” according to the station.
Authorities have reportedly received more than 2,300 tips since Mollie was reported missing. The Crime Stoppers reward for her return has exceeded $360,000.
Rob previously said he thinks his daughter is alive and with someone she trusted.
“The bottom line is somebody knows something," he previously said in a Fox News interview.
Authorities have also put up a website encouraging people to submit any information they may have on the case.
