Michelle Obama Reminds Us That She’s Still a Style Icon
The former First Lady, Michelle Obama, stepped out in a fringed frock by Rachel Comey for the season.
Former First Lady Michelle Obama has been enjoying her time out of the spotlight—but when she does step back into the public arena, it instantly recalls the style and grace she maintained while in office. This morning, Obama made her grand return by appearing on the Today show to celebrate International Day of the Girl, as well as to announce her latest initiative, The Global Girls Alliance.
For the occasion, Obama dressed in a white Rachel Comey dress, a color she has consistently employed as a symbol of hope and female empowerment. The streamlined frock carried over some of the Obama style DNA—a fluid fit and wide, cinched belt—but modernized it with directional touches, such as a fringed panel and Grecian-inspired slit. With the former FLOTUS also rallying support to get out and vote—the midterms are on November 6th—here’s looking forward to more elegant ensembles from her in the weeks to come.
