Last week, a configurator page for the 2019 Ford Ranger mistakenly went live with inaccurate pricing information. Now, Ford has released official pricing figures for its highly anticipated new mid-sizer. The 2019 Ranger starts at $24,300 for a two-wheel drive XL SuperCab model, and base prices climb up to $38,385 for the top-spec four-wheel drive Lariat SuperCrew.

The Ranger will be available with two cab configurations, SuperCab and SuperCrew, and with three trim levels, XL, XLT, and Lariat. Stepping up to SuperCrew for the XL costs $2200, while it's $2175 more for both the XLT and top-level Lariat. Four-wheel drive is a $4000 option for XLT and Lariat, and a $4160 option for XL.

A Ford spokesperson provided us with a breakdown of base prices for each Ranger model, including a $1095 destination and delivery fee:

4x2 SuperCab

  • XL with 6’ Box: $25,395

  • XLT with 6’ Box: $29,035

  • Lariat with 6’ Box: $33,305

4x4 SuperCab

  • XL with 6’ Box: $29,555

  • XLT with 6’ Box: $33,035

  • Lariat with 6’ Box: $37,305

4x2 SuperCrew

  • XLT with 5’ Box: $31,210

  • Lariat with 5’ Box: $35,480

4x4 SuperCrew

  • XL with 5’ Box: $31,775

  • XLT with 5’ Box: $35,210

  • Lariat with 5’ Box: $39,480

Chevy hasn't announced pricing for the 2019 Colorado, but the 2018 model starts at just more than $20,000. So, it seems there's a big gap between Ford's and Chevy's mid-size rivals, but, the Colorado's base engine is a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder making just 200 hp. The only engine available for the Ranger is Ford's 2.3-liter turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder. Ford hasn't announced specs for this engine yet, but since it's similar to the 350-hp unit in the old Focus RS, we expect it to offer around 300 hp, putting it on par with the Colorado's 3.6-liter V6.

The configurator for the 2019 Ranger just went live on Ford's website, too, so head over there to build your perfect pickup.
