The clock is ticking on the massive Disney-Fox merger, which is set to become official at 12.02am Eastern Time on Wednesday (March 20).

And Fox's most problematic son Deadpool has wasted no time in potentially making his new owners worry about what they've got themselves in to.

On Twitter, actor Ryan Reynolds posted a pic of himself as Deadpool wearing Mickey Mouse ears while waving out the back of a school bus which read 'Disney'.

He captioned the photo: "Feels like the first day of ‘Pool."

When the Disney-Fox merger was first announced, many fans worried about the fate of the R-rated Deadpool in the House of Mouse.

But in February, Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed during an earnings call that the studio still has huge plans for Deadpool.

“We will continue in that business,” Iger told investors. “There’s certainly popularity with those types of films.”

In January, Reynolds teased that the third film in the franchise would "go in a completely different direction" from the first two, adding that “often, they reboot or change a character maybe like four movies too late".

The actor also joked that the third instalment may be titled Deadpool 3: Little Bitchy Bitch, as a tribute to the nickname Chinese fans have given the character.
