PIRAEUS, Greece (AP) _ Danaos Corp. (DAC) on Monday reported first-quarter earnings of $33.4 million.

On a per-share basis, the Piraeus, Greece-based company said it had net income of $2.19. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs, came to $2.53 per share.

The shipping company posted revenue of $112.9 million in the period.

Danaos shares have climbed 1.5% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $10.66, a fall of 41% in the last 12 months.
