CURITIBA, Brazil (AP) _ Companhia Paranaense de Energia (ELPVY) on Wednesday reported first-quarter net income of $132.1 million.

On a per-share basis, the Curitiba, Brazil-based company said it had net income of 48 cents.

The energy company posted revenue of $1.03 billion in the period.

Companhia Paranaense shares have risen 35% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 64% in the last 12 months.
