VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) _ Capstone Mining Corp. (CSFFF) on Tuesday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $38.9 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Vancouver, British Columbia-based company said it had a loss of 10 cents. Earnings, adjusted to account for discontinued operations and non-recurring costs, were 2 cents per share.

The base metals mining company posted revenue of $98 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported a loss of $22.7 million, or 6 cents per share, swinging to a loss in the period. Revenue was reported as $415.9 million.

The company's shares closed at 43 cents. A year ago, they were trading at $1.09.
