Around 1,000 tires caught fire at an industrial site in Ranskill in Nottinghamshire, England, on August 5, according to the local fire department.
Footage posted to Twitter shows a large plume of thick, black smoke, which the fire department said could be seen from surrounding areas.
People were warned to avoid the area as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, which broke out before 10:30 am. “Large quantities of smoke are issuing from the scene,” the fire department said.
