Celebrate the 4th of July With Some Amazing 'AFV' Fireworks Fails
America’s Funniest Home Videos isn’t just a showcase for outstanding achievements in Wiffle ball nut shots and heart-attack-inducing Halloween pranks. It also serves as an unofficial PSA for How Not to Kill Yourself With Fireworks on July 4. Over the show’s 25 years, it has chronicled too many fireworks fails to count — but fortunately it has compiled the best of the bad ideas into one handy supercut.

The compilation offers several handy Fourth of July do’s and don’ts, like Do Keep Fireworks Away From Animals (see: the rogue wiener dog running wild with an exploding torch) and Don’t Put Fireworks Under the Bucket You’re Standing On.
Sometimes, though, AFV has to let an act of true stupidity stand on its own, as with the video below, simply titled “Why You Shouldn’t Light the Whole Box of Sparklers.” Have a safe Fourth, everybody!
