Cyber Monday Roundup: Where to Find the Best Deals in Tech

If lining up outside stores in the cold wasn’t your idea of a nice Thanksgiving night, Cyber Monday may be your savior. It’s the less-turbulent (and safer) online alternative to IRL Black Friday, and the day (now even week) of online shopping can offer prices that are just as good as the brick and mortar shops.

Here’s an update on some of the most notable tech sales that have popped up:

Google
Many of Google’s smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches sold from the company’s online Play store will come with bonus Play store gift cards, good for purchasing ebooks, digital movies, TV shows, and music. And the Nest smart thermostat and Chromecast TV streaming device have been priced at $50 and $10 cheaper, respectively.

T-Mobile
You can get the 64 GB iPhone 6 for the price of the 16 GB model at T-mobile.com, a $100 savings for those who are in the market to grab the larger-storage version of Apple’s latest phone.

Roku
The Roku LT and the Roku Streaming Stick are on sale for $29 and $39 over at the company’s website. And you can now get three free months of Hulu Plus and two free months of Rdio when you buy.

Microsoft Store
If you didn’t grab a laptop during this year’s Black Friday bonanza, you’re still in good shape. Microsoftstore.com has some A+ deals on computers this Cyber Monday, including an Acer 15.6-inch Intel i5 laptop for $399 (a $200 discount).

Pebble
Grab the original modern-day smartwatch for less this Monday. The elegant Pebble Steel has been dropped 50 bucks to $149, and the original Pebble is going for $79, a $20 price cut.

Amazon.com
Amazon’s online Black Friday sale was also online, for obvious reasons. And like that sale, the retailer’s seven days of Cyber Monday event is offering new surprise deals hitting the site every 10 minutes. The best prices on tech products the company has disclosed so far include 40 percent off Panasonic 47-inch and 55-inch smart 3D HDTVs, more than 50 percent off Sony and Philips portable speaker systems, and free and discounted apps in the Amazon Appstore.

Walmart.com
Deals at Walmart’s Cyber Monday sale include up to $500 discounts on super-large HD TVs, a three-game PlayStation 4 bundle for $449, and more.

Bestbuy.com
Some Cyber Monday deals have been happening at Bestbuy.com for days, but the latest and greatest include $30 off select Apple iPad Air devices (with free shipping) and $25 off a Nintendo package that includes a 3DS XL and a $10 Nintendo eShop gift card.

Newegg.com
Computer electronics-related site Newegg is offering over $300 off on an LG 49-inch 1080p HD TV, as well as tons of discounts on high- and mid-level laptops, monitors, and computer parts.

Tigerdirect.com
Tiger Direct’s “Tech the Season” sale began in November. It’s a full catalog of sales-priced computer-related products with a super-low-priced “Daily Deal Slasher” item rotated every 24 hours.

Brand sites
Shooting directly to an electronics company’s own website has proved in recent years to be a Cyber Monday winner. This time around, for instance, Motorola has already announced a $140-off deal on the unlocked version of its flagship Moto X smartphone, available today. Dell, Microsoft, HP, and Lenovo have also posted sales in their cyber shops, as well.

Cell providers
Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T have Cyber Monday deals of their own lined up, as the carriers normally do. Check out each company’s site for details on their respective sales.
