Aly Raisman Raids Her Mom's Closet for Fashion Inspiration

When she’s not wowing people with her Olympic-gold gymnastics, posing in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Editions, and in between avoiding creepy comments on the Internet and in real life, it looks like Aly Raisman likes to spend her time raiding her mother’s closet.

Posting on social media this weekend, Raisman commented for her fans and followers, “Playing dress up in my moms closet and we found a gown that my mom wore 20 years ago SO I wore it last night. Like mother like daughter.”

Raisman posed in the photo, side-by-side with an older photo of her mother Lynn Raisman, both sporting the long black, spaghetti strapped dress featuring a unique cascading pattern of contrasting white flowers. She later posted on social media another photo of her out and about wearing the outfit.

Though it’s not clear where exactly the former captain of the Fierce Five and Final Five women’s Olympic gymnastics teams went out on the town, it certainly appears like she was having a good time.

As noted above, Raisman has seemingly been spending a good deal of time fending off or dealing with inappropriate comments. The latest incident occurred at this year’s NHL Awards ceremony, where former Los Angeles Kings hockey player Marcel Dionne ,65 years old, felt it necessary to catcall 23-year-old Raisman about her legs. By most accounts it was an awkward moment.

But Raisman’s more recent display of mother-daughter fashion appears to have been received with much more appropriate fanfare. “Beautiful and a great role model for young girls,” wrote one commenter on Facebook. “It looks beautiful on you both,” wrote a fan on Instagram.
