Semi Hauling New BMWs Consumed by Fire on Mississippi Freeway

A semi-truck hauling several new BMW vehicles was destroyed by fire after crashing on Interstate 10 at the Pearl River Bridge, at the Louisiana-Mississippi state line, in the early hours of January 11, local reports said.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said the semi was the only vehicle involved in the crash, and said the driver escaped unharmed.

Footage released by MHP Troop K shows crews removing the burned-out remains of the semi-truck and the vehicles it was transporting.

The crash occurred on the Mississippi side of the state line, in Hancock County, according to MHP and Louisiana State Police.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-10 were closed for several hours overnight, and reopened at around 8:30 am on Tuesday, according to transport officials. Credit: MHP Biloxi via Storyful
