5 people injured during house fire in Windgap

Five people, including two police officers, were hospitalized after a house fire in Pittsburgh’s Windgap neighborhood on Tuesday.

Fire crews were called to the 1700 block of Oberon Street at 5:07 p.m. Pittsburgh police said emergency crews arrived on scene within three minutes, at 5:10 p.m.

An elderly woman was rescued after being trapped inside. She is now in stable condition at a hospital.

Two other people from the home are also listed in stable condition.

Two Pittsburgh police officers were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation as a precaution.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
