Troopers and Englewood Fire were called to Interstate 70 just east of state Route 48 at around 9:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a semi truck on fire, dispatch stated.

There were no reported injuries with the driver safely outside, dispatch informed.

A tow truck was called to the scene to remove the semi.

Interstate 70 reopened shortly after the tow truck was removed from the highway.

The cause of the fire was attributed to a mechanical issue, troopers at the scene told News Center 7 crew.
