One injured in tractor-trailer fire on I-81 in Pulaski County

PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR)– The Pulaski Fire Department has provided an update on the vehicle fire on I-81.

According to the fire department, the vehicle fire started after a tractor-trailer crash, causing the tractor-trailer involved to catch fire.

The fire department says the occupant in the tractor-trailer was taken to the hospital. There is no update on the extent of the occupant’s injury.

PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR)– The Virginia Department of Transportation says drivers can expect delays on I-81 in Pulaski County due to a vehicle fire near mile marker 104.7.

As of 1:25 p.m., all north lanes are closed and traffic backups are approximately five miles. Currently, traffic is being diverted off I-81 at Exit 98.
