Trump fumes over Ilhan Omar's 'welcome home' crowd

After claiming he wasn’t happy that his supporters broke into a “send her back” chant at his rally in North Carolina, President Trump on Friday fumed over the media coverage of Rep. Ilhan Omar’s return to Minnesota, where she was greeted by a crowd cheering “Welcome home.”
In a series of tweets, the president complained that the media had become “crazed” over the chant, which came after he questioned Omar’s loyalty to the United States, yet “is totally calm & accepting of the most vile and disgusting statements made by the three Radical Left Congresswomen.”
Trump has been very publicly feuding with four — not three — congresswomen.
In his latest social media missives, Trump also claimed without evidence that the rally for Omar at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Thursday night was “staged.” More than 100 people, many carrying signs, met Omar in the baggage claim at the airport.
The president also seemed to conflate the Minnesota congresswoman with Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan by calling Omar “Foul Mouthed.” Tlaib had told supporters, “We’re going to impeach the motherf***er” shortly after being sworn in to Congress.
It is amazing how the Fake News Media became “crazed” over the chant “send her back” by a packed Arena (a record) crowd in the Great State of North Carolina, but is totally calm & accepting of the most vile and disgusting statements made by the three Radical Left Congresswomen...

Trump stirred outrage on Sunday when he suggested that four Democratic congresswomen of color — Reps. Omar, Tlaib, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ayanna Pressley — should “go back” to their “broken and crime infested” countries. All of the lawmakers are U.S. citizens, and three of the four were born in the United States.
He has repeatedly doubled down on his remarks since, including at the Wednesday night rally when his supporters chanted “Send her back!” in response.
Speaking to reporters at the White House Thursday, Trump insisted he was dismayed by the chant.
“I was not happy with it. I disagree with it,” Trump said.
The president then falsely claimed he attempted to stop the chant by “speaking very quickly.” Video of the event shows Trump paused for 13 seconds, allowing it to fill the arena.
Trump did not seem displeased upon his arrival back in Washington, D.C., after the rally.
“What a crowd, and what great people,” he tweeted Wednesday. “The enthusiasm blows away our rivals on the Radical Left.”
Trump followed up his Friday rant about coverage of the controversy with a broadside aimed at New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, who called the president a “racist, divisive, climate-change-denying, woman-abusing jerk” in his latest column. Trump said that he recently spoke with Friedman, who he said “kissed my a..” on the phone.
