Transformers 5 Wants Isabela Moner For Lead Role

It looks as though ‘Transformers 5’ has its sights set on Nickelodeon star, Isabela Moner.

According to The Wrap, the 14-year-old rising star is being pursued for the leading role in the upcoming ‘Transformers’ sequel.

“Up-and-coming actress Isabela Moner is being eyed for a lead role opposite Mark Wahlberg in Paramount’s ‘Transformers 5’,” they revealed. “Paramount did not immediately respond to a request for comment.”

But who will she be playing?

“Moner is poised to play the young female lead of Izabella, a street-smart tomboy who grew up an orphan and was raised in foster care,” they explain. “She counts a small Transformer as her only friend… until she meets Wahlberg’s heroic inventor Cade Yeager.”

That’s right – Mark Wahlberg will also be returning to the franchise.

And he’s not the only one…

Michael Bay is apparently returning to direct the ‘Transformers’ sequel, which also boasts the involvement of executive producer Steven Spielberg. Amongst writing talent for the film are Akiva Goldsman and Jeff Pinker.

Of course, there’s a certain level of corporate synergy at play here – Isabela Moner is a rising star on Nickelodeon – which is owned by Paramount Pictures parent company, Viacom.

Her work to date includes ‘100 Things to Do Before High School’ and animated series ‘Dora and Friends: Into the City!’.

“Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy and Tom DeSanto will produce ‘Transformers 5’ with Hasbro, and Paramount will release the film on June 23, 2017. Production is slated to start this summer in Detroit.”

‘Transformers 5’ heads to cinemas on 23 June 2017.
