Police recover vehicle from Red Lake River following Crookston crash
Apr. 5—The Grand Forks County Sheriff's Office Water and Rescue Team has recovered a vehicle that was reportedly driven into the Red Lake River last week near Crookston.
According to police, a woman walked into the Crookston Public Library around 11:15 a.m. Friday, April 2, all wet, claiming she had driven her car into the river. Around the same time, Crookston Police became aware of a vehicle in the river near Central Park east of Robert Street Bridge, a release from the Polk County Sheriff's Office stated.
The woman was transported to Riverview Healthcare, and was released later that day. Police say she suffered a medical incident while driving, causing her to go into the river. She appears to have been the sole occupant of the vehicle, according to the release.
The water and rescue team, assisting the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Crookston Police, pulled the white 2015 Chevrolet Colorado out of the water on Saturday, April 3.
No further information about the incident will be released at this time, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
