VIDEO: Single-vehicle crash leads to fire in Lafayette

UPDATE: The Lafayette Police Department said the vehicle was stolen by the driver from a family member before crashing and abandoning the vehicle. The driver then later showed up to a local hospital to treat injuries from the accident.

Officials identified the suspect as Connor Chaney, 37, of Lafayette and have issued warrants for his arrest.

ORIGINAL STORY: LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)– Officers with the Lafayette Police Department are currently investigating a single-vehicle crash that led to a fire.

Police said a driver struck a pole, and the vehicle caught on fire on Pandora Street in Lafayette Friday evening. The driver abandoned the vehicle as a result of the fire.

Authorities said no injuries have been reported at this time.
