One with severe injuries, six displaced after early-morning Concord fire

CONCORD, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Fire officials reported Wednesday that one person suffered life-threatening injuries and six people are displaced following an early-morning Concord fire.

Concord Fire went to a single-story house fire in the 100 block of James Street SW around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 13.

First responders arrived within three minutes of dispatch and saw heavy smoke and fire at the house. They located one person inside the house and extinguished the fire in 10 minutes.

Cabarrus County EMS took the person to the hospital, and the Cabarrus County Red Cross is assisting those who are impacted.

The person recovered is still in critical condition with inhalation and burn injuries, officials said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
