Delta variant is dramatically spreading among unvaccinated Americans

Since the start of the pandemic, public health experts have been concerned about what might happen if large sections of the US population, for whatever reason, did not get vaccinated. As of mid-July 2021, the US has fully vaccinated more than 160 million people—just under 50% of the population—against COVID-19.
