Lori Loughlin Has Country Club Problems
Actress Lori Loughlin now has country club problems in addition to the prison kind.
Back in May, the former Full House star pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges related to the college admissions scandal, in which she and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli were accused of paying $500,000 to get their two daughters recruited for the USC crew team, despite the fact that neither girl had experience in the sport.
Under the terms of their plea agreements, Loughlin agreed to serve up to two months in prison and two years of supervised release, pay a $150,000 fine, and perform 100 hours of community service, Her husband will serve up to 5 months in prison with two years of supervised release, perform 250 hours of community service, and pay a $250,000 fine.
Their official sentencing is expected to take place in August, but in the meantime, they're reportedly experiencing punishment of a different, more social sort.
Over the weekend, TMZ reported that the couple had resigned from their membership at Bel-Air Country Club. TMZ also obtained a letter from the club's previous president, Michael Gallagher.
"This unprecedented board decision to allow felons to continue as members causes irreparable reputational harm to the Club and its members," reads his message in part. "BACC is a Club of gentlemen and gentlewomen. Gentlemen are not felons, and felons in turn are not gentlemen. You cannot be a member in good standing and guilty of a felony at the same time, it is a non sequitur."
Per TMZ, Loughlin and Mossimo are believed to have resigned voluntarily, and some members of the club were supportive of their membership, while others no longer wanted them associated with the organization.
