Firefighters save century-old farmhouse in Patterson from blaze engulfing truck, RV

Patterson and Putnam Lake firefighters saved a century-old farmhouse on Big Elm Road in Patterson Wednesday morning after a raging fire engulfed an RV and truck parked just feet away.

No one was injured in the blaze. The occupants of the home watched from across the street as crews battled the fire at the farmhouse, which was undergoing renovations at the time.

High winds and dry conditions caused small fires in the roof and near a front window of the farmhouse, which firefighters were able to quickly extinguish.

Mutual aid was requested from Brewster, Lake Carmel, Carmel and Pawling.
