New England town ranked among the best places in America to buy a lake house
Many people love to sit back and relax at the lake during the spring and summer months, which makes Lake Houses a perfect vacation destination.
There are over 480,000 lakes in the U.S and figuring out where to find a lake home takes some research, but one of the best towns to buy a lake house might be right in your backyard.
Gilford, NH happens to be home to be one of Evolve’s top 12 “Best Places to Buy a Lake House in 2023″.
Gilford is home to Lake Winnipesaukee, the largest lake in New Hampshire. The lake covers 72 square miles of water and is surrounded by many mountain ranges.
The median rental revenue in Gilford is $29,533 and the median listing price is $518,389.
Gilford is your classic lake town, cruises, jet skiing and summer fireworks but also has some added perks like a 8,000-seat amphitheater hosting summer concerts, Gunstock Mountain Resort, breweries, and museums.
Although prices are higher than other lake towns, most houses are located right on the water and have stunning lake views.
“Of course, you’ll also find homes well above the median list price. Those multi-million dollar properties have extra-luxe perks like two- to three-boat covered docks, and sprawling acreage with additional plots of land to build on,” said Elolve in a new report.
