Donald Trump Eyes Carly Fiorina for Director of National Intelligence

Donald Trump is considering Carly Fiorina, the former chief executive of and Republican presidential candidate, for director of national intelligence, the New York Times reported.

Fiorina met with the president-elect at Trump Tower on Monday to discuss the role, an unnamed transition official told the Times.

“We talked about hacking, whether it’s Chinese hacking or purported Russian hacking,” Fiorina said. “We talked about the opportunity that the president-elect has to literally reset things, to reset the trajectory of this economy, to reset the role of government, to reset America's role in the world and how we're perceived in the world. And I think it's why he's getting such fantastic people in his administration.”

The director of national intelligence leads the U.S. Intelligence community and advises the president on intelligence matters.

Trump and Fiorina sparred often during the 2016 election, with Trump criticizing her appearance--”Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that?--and Fiorina calling for him to drop out of the race after a video was released in October of the president-elect bragging about assaulting women.

Following the meeting, Fiorina had only kind words for Trump--and his interior decor.

“First, I want to say, he has really cool stuff in his office," she said. “All of these athletes have given him all this incredible memorabilia. I was particular taken by Shaq O'Neal's shoe, which is huge. I guess it takes a champion to know a champion.”
