Counter-Protesters Fill Laguna Beach in Opposition to 'America First' Protesters

At least two different protest groups gathered along Laguna Beach’s Main Beach on Sunday, August 20, with local police also at the scene to prevent clashes.

One of the protest groups, calling their event “America First! Electric Vigil for the Victims of Illegals and Refugees,” had gathered to draw attention to crimes committed by illegal immigrants, according to reports from the Los Angeles Times, The Orange County Register and tweets by local reporters. Their gathering attracted counter-protesters wielding anti-Trump and anti-Nazi signs. The counter-protesters outnumbered the “American First” ones about 40 to one, according to The Orange County Register, and an estimated 2,500 people turned out in total.
