Body of woman found 1 mile off coast of Boca Raton; city police investigate death

BOCA RATON — City police are conducting a death investigation after officers found the body of woman floating in the Atlantic near the Boca Raton coastline Friday morning.

Police marine units found the body at about 9:15 a.m. during a routine patrol about a mile offshore, a department spokesperson said.

The spokesperson described the investigation as active and open Friday afternoon and no other details were immediately available.
