Beyoncé’s Lemonade Album Causes Massive Spike In Lemon And Bee Emojis On Twitter

When ‘Queen Bey’ dropped her latest album this week it caused a huge buzz online, leading to a massive spike in lemon and bee emojis, according to Twitter’s data department.

Dubbed ‘the Beyoncé effect’ by Twitter, the launch of the singer’s ‘Lemonade’ saw her ‘Beyhive’ of fans sending some 450,000 tweets using the lemon emoji and around 250,000 with a bee emoji.

The album appears to contain some rather damning references to the singer’s husband Jay-Z and his alleged extramarital activities, including a mention of a mystery women referred to only as ’Becky with the good hair’.

So far, Amercian fashion designer Rachel Roy, TV cook Rachel Ray (a case of mistaken identity) and singer Rita Ora have all been accused by the Beyhive of being the lady in question, and all have denied it.

Enraged Beyoncé fans have even been targeting them on social media, largely by posting lemon and bee emojis in their Instagram comments.

The singer kicked off her hotly anticipated Formation tour in Miami this week.
