33-year-old man dies in DeLand wreck on Thanksgiving

A Tallahassee man died after crashing into a concrete pole in DeLand on Thanksgiving morning, according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Around 1:30 a.m., the man was driving a 2018 Honda Accord west on New York Avenue when he lost control near North Spring Garden Avenue and drove off the road, crashing into a pole that was next to the road, according to the release. He died at the scene.

The man, who was 33, was not wearing a seatbelt. It's unclear why he lost control, but troopers are investigating the wreck. The Florida Highway Patrol didn't release the man's name.
