Exclusive: Andra Day Premieres Stunning ‘The Only Way Out’ Video From ‘Ben-Hur’
Neo-soul sensation Andra Day is having quite a year. Her full-length debut Cheers to the Fall and anthemic single “Rise Up” were nominated at the 2016 Grammy Awards (where she dueted with Ellie Goulding); she stunningly performed at last week’s Democratic National Convention; and in late 2015 she sang at the White House and starred in a commercial with her friend, mentor, and admirer, Stevie Wonder.
Now Day has landed her ballad “The Only Way Out” on the Ben-Hur movie soundtrack, and today Yahoo Music is excited to premiere the song’s official music video, directed by Myriam Santos.
Ben-Hur, starring Morgan Freeman, Jack Huston, Toby Kebbell, Nazanin Boniadi, and Rodrigo Santoro, comes out Aug. 19. The soundtrack, out the same day on LightWorkers Media, will also feature tracks by Voice champion Jordan Smith, Switchfoot’s Jon Foreman, Family Force 5, For King & Country, Big Daddy Weave, Sidewalk Prophets, and others.
