The first standalone adventure in the Star Wars franchise, Rogue One, arrives on Dec. 16. No matter how big the excitement is over that pre-Episode IV saga about the rebels’ theft of the Empire’s Death Star plans, many fans are biding their time for the series’ primary story, which won’t resume until next year when the still untitled Episode VIII docks in theaters. Details about its plot remain predictably slim, although director Rian Johnson has been posting occasional shots from the production on his social media account. His latest one indicates that the project has now officially moved to the editorial phase.

After celebrating the end of the film’s shoot with some twerking Stormtroopers, Johnson has uploaded a snapshot to his Instagram account that reveals he’s now firmly ensconced in the editing bay to cut Episode VIII. Given that the accompanying post simply states “Day one!,” it’s clear that there’s much work left to be done before this latest Star Wars installment is ready for theaters. (It does indicate that things are so far going smoothly for the sequel, which, unlike Rogue One, has yet to be plagued by pesky reshoot-related reports.)

As for Daisy Ridley’s mysterious new Rey hairstyle, fans will have to keep hypothesizing…

Star Wars: Episode VIII arrives in theaters on Dec. 17, 2017.
